Standards Committees

MedQIA scientists have leadership roles in the development of imaging biomarker standards. Our academic consultants are Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiologic Physics by the American Board of Radiology and sit on international and national professional organizations and standards committees including:

  • · International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurement (ICRU) Committee on Image Quality and Patient Dose in Computed Tomography

  • · American College of Radiology (ACR) CT Accreditation Program Physics Subcommittee

  • · American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) CT committee

  • · AAPM Task Group 23 –Radiation Dose in CT (co-author on AAPM report 96- The Measurement, Reporting and Management of Radiation Dose in CT)

  • · Imaging Protocol Development and Quality Control committees for the NIH/ACRIN funded National Lung Screening Trial (NLST)

  • · State of California Department of Health Services Radiologic Technology Certification Subcommittee on Digital Radiography

  • · UCLA Radiation Safety Committee (campus RSC) and Medical Radiation Safety Committee (MRSC-School of Medicine)

  • · Funded investigators on the NIH Lung Imaging Database Consortium (LIDC) and RIDER projects to create a standardized public database of lung tumors on CT for quantitative imaging biomarker development.
