System Administrator
About the Job
MedQIA is a research organization that specializes in cutting-edge image analysis for clinical trials and maintains a state-of-the-art medical data center and computational environment. We are seeking a system administrator to support our team lead by providing desktop and windows server support. The successful applicant Will receive training and experience in advanced server and networking administration.
Duties and Tasks
Provide troubleshooting, problem solving, and general support for computers/users. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems including the installation and configuration of Microsoft Windows operating systems, applications, and company standard software.
Provide user support.
Diagnose and perform the repair of computers and printers.
Assist in upgrading software.
Perform inventory, general and preventive maintenance.
Create and maintain documentation of technical procedures.
Required Skills
Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office is required.
Desirable Skills/Abilities
Experience with any of Ubuntu Linux, FreeBSD, or VMware desirable.
iDatabase experience desirable.
Computer programming experience in any of Java, C/C++, Perl, Python, PHP desirable.
