Volumetrics
MedQIA's computer-aided volumetric analysis tools provide more accurate and reproducible assessment of tumor size changes than manual RECIST measurements. While RECIST involves a 1D measurement, volume measurements capture tumor size and changes in 3D. Also, RECIST measurements involve a manual, subjective identification of the longest diameter that is susceptible to intra- and inter-observer variability. In contrast, MedQIA analysis tools are semi-automated, with computer generated 3D tumor boundaries that are then edited and approved by radiologists. After the tumor boundaries have been approved all measurements are calculated automatically.
MedQIA imaging physicists support the development and standardization of advanced high-resolution imaging protocols to optimize accuracy and reproducibility of volumetric measurements. This includes thin-section volumetric CT/MRI and 3T and 7T MRI protocols. They are highly experienced in delivering optimized standard of care imaging in multicenter trials to maximize both site participation and quality.
MedQIA also provides conventional assessments of tumor size for clinical trials including RECIST, WHO, MacDonald and Bone scan.
MedQIA lesion size measurement tools have been scientifically validated in peer-reviewed animal, phantom and human studies.
