Tumor structure and Vessel Analysis

MedQIA has developed analytic tools to assess tumor structure including CT density statistics (attenuation histogram analysis), as well as morphological and surface curvature features. Quantitative vessel analysis tools include vessel counts and lumen diameter measurements.

Analyses of tumor surface curvature can be used to distinguish between benign and malignant tumors. They also reflect tumor microvasculature and can provide a quantitative assessment of changes.

MedQIA also has expertise in the development of classification algorithms for patterns of disease recurrence. These include a semi-quantitative algorithm to classify GBM patterns of recurrence on MRI as local, distant, diffuse, or multifocal. This algorithm takes into account tumor enhancement, margins, distance between lesion centers, and intervening brain signal.
