Perfusion and Permeability
MedQIA has a track record in assessment of anti-angiogenic agents [DCE refs]. Novel perfusion biomarkers seek to detect early changes and move beyond size/growth based assessments such as RECIST. MedQIA's analytic workstation supports tumor perfusion/permeability calculations from DCE CT/MRI and DSC MRI (including kTrans, IAUCvariables).
DCE can provide not just global assessment of an entire tumor but local assessment of microvasculature. The image below shows CT contrast enhancement maps pioneered at UCLA. The images suggest that not just the amount of contrast enhancement but the heterogeneity of enhancement pattern may provide a quantitative biomarker of malignancy.
